No longer a life of proxy
I have seen the dark and the light
The path has been rocky
But I am no longer alone in the night.
Rejuvenated by the sun's radiance
Delineated by my own means
Amalgamated by my past
Consolidated, built, polished, and sheened.
To harbor hatred no more
I've seen enough scenes of tragedy
My eyes no longer sore with sorrow
I look in the mirror and see no malady.
To look upon my years
To account for the tears that fell in the land of the bells,
To face my fears
To ask the merchant what he sells
Only to be rebuked and given sheers and a bush.
To each their own, except for me
I didn't get my pick of the crop.
I was given my heritage hand down; a wilted tree,
A simple set back didn't make me stop.
The house of war
All the troubles at school
Oh, the suspensions galore
If only I knew
That I'd give up my plight
Defeat my gripes
And discover a land out of sight
Through the wickets
Through the waves
I'm living in my Glory days.
Thank you for listening to what I have to say.
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you.
